Iran and Oman near deal on Strait of Hormuz shipping routes

Iran says it has reached an agreement with Oman on shipping routes through the Strait of Hormuz, a chokepoint for roughly a fifth of global oil supply. The deal comes as Houthi forces continue attacking Saudi tankers in the region and Israel carries out strikes in Lebanon, keeping the broader conflict far from resolved.
