Al Fayed victims officially confirmed as human trafficking survivors

The UK Home Office has formally recognised at least five survivors of abuse by former Harrods owner Mohamed Al Fayed as victims of human trafficking, including women trafficked both internationally and within the UK. Survivors' groups are pushing the Metropolitan Police to make trafficking the central focus of its investigation, arguing Fayed could not have operated without an organised network of facilitators — one case was found to have occurred entirely within Harrods.
