India's First Private Rocket Reaches Orbit on Debut

India has achieved a historic milestone as the country's first privately developed rocket successfully reached orbit on its very first launch attempt. The achievement puts India alongside the US and China in having a functional private orbital launch industry, dramatically lowering the cost barrier for Indian space missions.
