UK resident doctors call off strike after pay offer

Resident doctors in England have cancelled a four-day walkout that was due to begin Monday — what would have been the 16th round of strike action since 2023 — after the government made a last-minute pay offer. The deal, which will be put to members for a vote, is understood to include an average 6.6% pay uplift. The dispute has cost the NHS billions and left millions of appointments undelivered.
