Federal Court Blocks Mailing of Abortion Pill Mifepristone

A federal appeals court has banned mailing mifepristone across the US, cutting off the most common method of abortion access in large parts of the country. The ruling effectively reaches far beyond states with existing abortion bans, since mail-order medication has been a primary workaround for patients in restricted states since Roe fell. Mifepristone accounts for the majority of abortions performed in the United States.
