US charges Sinaloa governor with drug trafficking

The US Justice Department has indicted the governor of Sinaloa, Rubén Rocha Moya, and nine other current and former Mexican officials for allegedly aiding the Sinaloa cartel's mass narcotics shipments into the United States. Several of the accused belong to President Claudia Sheinbaum's ruling Morena party, putting her in an awkward diplomatic spot. The indictment names 10 officials total, spanning drug trafficking, weapons offences, and kidnapping charges.
