xAI sues Colorado over AI anti-discrimination law

Elon Musk's xAI has filed suit against Colorado seeking to block the state's first-in-the-nation AI anti-discrimination law before it takes effect in June, arguing it violates First Amendment free speech protections. The law would require AI developers to protect residents from algorithmic discrimination in high-stakes areas including employment, healthcare, housing, and education. OpenAI, meanwhile, took the opposite posture this week, testifying in favour of an Illinois bill that would limit AI companies' liability even in cases of mass harm.
