More than 100 substances currently used in common US foods, drinks, and supplements — including Capri Sun — received no health or safety review from the FDA, according to an Environmental Working Group analysis of federal records. Companies have exploited a regulatory loophole that allows them to introduce new chemicals into the food supply without agency sign-off. The findings land as the FDA faces broader scrutiny over its oversight capacity.
