Hong Kong Shatters All-Time Heat Record at 36.9C
Hong Kong has recorded its highest temperature since meteorological records began in 1884, with Typhoon Dolphin pushing a wave of extreme heat across the region. The UK is simultaneously bracing for its fifth widespread heatwave of 2026, with more areas expected to move into drought conditions. Wildfires are burning simultaneously across the western US and Canada, with 183 new fires reported since Saturday including eight classed as large.
