Iran closes Strait of Hormuz as US-Iran talks begin

Iran has declared the Strait of Hormuz closed in response to Israeli strikes on Lebanon, a move the US military disputes but which has raised immediate alarm over global oil flows. US Vice President Vance has traveled to Switzerland, where an Iranian delegation has arrived for peace talks that follow a fragile US-Iran memorandum of understanding. The deal includes a 60-day window during which the US has not ruled out eventually charging its own tolls on the strait.
