Hantavirus Kills Three on Atlantic Cruise Ship

A suspected hantavirus outbreak aboard a cruise ship in the Atlantic Ocean has killed three passengers, with a fourth in intensive care, the WHO has confirmed. Hantavirus — typically spread through contact with infected rodent droppings — is rare but can cause fatal respiratory failure, and outbreaks aboard enclosed vessels are virtually unheard of.
