US soldier charged for betting on Maduro raid

A US Army master sergeant has been arrested for allegedly using classified knowledge of the January operation to capture Venezuelan president Nicolás Maduro to place winning bets on prediction market Polymarket — the first criminal case of its kind in the country. Gannon Ken Van Dyke, 38, faces up to 60 years in prison after prosecutors say he pocketed more than $400,000 on trades he placed while actively involved in planning the mission.
