Category Five Cyclone Narelle Bears Down on Queensland

Tropical Cyclone Narelle intensified to category five on Thursday morning, fuelled by warm waters in the Coral Sea, and is expected to make landfall in far north Queensland on Friday as a category four storm. The Bureau of Meteorology is warning of destructive wind gusts exceeding 225km/h, threatening communities along the Queensland coast. Emergency preparations are under way across the region ahead of Friday's landfall.
